Hey guys. I exclusively play warlock and I love it! I'm undefeated in my group. Haven't had a chance to read the other thread but here's my take.

The warlock is a Zerg caster. I think it has some of the best bang for buck monsters 13 mana for 4 dice + piercing with 2 armor and 14 health is powerful with the ability to have bloodthirsty +2.

My general strategy is ignore everything but the caster. Keep spells like teleport and force push to get into position and hinder their caster. Most of the monsters have quick action attacks with 4 dice therefor it makes it hard to run from demons.

It sounds like a dicey strategy but it has worked so far. The warlock is a tank and has powerful creatures and the fire spells are great to do the last amounts of damage.

I wish this wouldn't have got started on a completely different board if people weren't going to read the other thread, because I feel like I have to cover the same ground twice. Not trying to be harsh, I just don't really want to have the same conversations twice.

The question isn't whether or not Dark spells are good, but whether the Warlock's abilities and support cards that are specific to him are as good as what the other mage's have available to them. It's all very specific in the OP. Unfortunately, like another user posted in the other thread, everyone keeps taking the rabbit hole to "how to build a good Warlock deck"...which isn't what the thread is about...at all.

As an example of the kinds of discussions that have already taken place, using your examples above, how is anything you said not something that can be done by another mage just as well or even better? My Wizard can do all of the things you mentioned just as well or better than the Warlock. The only thing you mentioned that the Wizard can't do is make a creature a Bloodreaper, but if I'm looking to make a creature a Pet, the Beastmaster does it better and at a more reasonable cost.

Reading the other thread would be best since this stuff has already been covered.

As a side note, I can't wait to meet all of these undefeated players at tournaments. I have a lot of tournament experience in a lot of different games, and in my experience the only people who are undefeated are pleople who have a less skilled playgroup. You're only as good as your competition, and if you never lose, your competition must be questionable. That wasn't meant as an insult to anyone, and maybe you are the best player in the Mage Wars environment and will roll everyone in tournaments, but maybe you just need some steeper competition ;)
