It turned out to have a lot of cripple shots from Basilisks on both sides, a final rush by my Wiz with some heavy lightning and a Hydra which played havoc on his balanced defenses, and my Regrowth Belt played a big part in keeping me alive.
His default deck I think limited his options and I had a customized deck with some heavy hitters he may have lacked.
