Sort of. Actions are actions. If she uses 1 turn (2 actions) to heal damage that took you 4 turns to do (8 actions), then she technically has tempo because she just negated several turns of work.

She has been doing other things in the other actions that are still relevant and useful.

Just saying. Many arguements try to reduce this game to mathematical guarantee. There is more to it than that. The math, while right, isn't always the winning/better play.

but this is the same Fuzzy Counter to the [Big Damage vs. Versatility(Heals)] debate. the premise of topic seems to be "Heals are too powerful, Don't cost enough!" When I say "Melee doesn't cost you anything," it's not very solid to say, "(lay on hands) beats x many rounds of (free melee)." It's suppose to be a solution to "too much damage." Why? because Killing The Other Mage Quickly is so overpowered it ends the game.

me saying "but (lay on hands) could whiff, healing for 1-3 life," is a Fuzzy Counter, so I wont say it. It brings nothing to the discussion.

It doesn't seem fuzzy to me. I am simply saying that the tempo arguement doesn't jive for me all of the time. If 2 actions of healing just undid 6 actions of attacking, the the bottom line is that the priestess is now ahead on actions.

Bottom line, the math, while right, isn't always the winning arguement.

For the record, I do not think healing is overpowered. It is just ultra annoying because dealing damage in this game is time consuming.

It is fuzzy in that it has zero context. What six actions did I spend hurting the priestess? Six of my own crippled mage? Then perhaps I am in trouble. Six of a bitterwood fox that had nothing better to do while my bears and wolves systematically destroyed her temples? Not a big deal. Actions are currency but they hardly have an absolute value.

There is so the simple fact that anything more devastating than a ferret will have a large dice-advantage in your comparison, plus the fact heals are a limited resource(if you let someone keep a wand of healing you deserve to lose)
