I wanted to comment about complexity. I did not find the game hard to learn or teach at all. It takes me about 15 minutes to explain the main features of the game with apprentice decks to a new player. They make plenty of tactical mistakes but not rules mistakes after that. For an experienced gamer I think the complexity is not an issue at all. There is a lot going on with all the abilities of course and the codex is very valuable, especially at first, because of that.
But the mechanics are pretty straightforward and the game plays pretty intuitively, I think. (BTW - I'm not a great player, 6 games so far, and the excellent rulebook makes tha game even easier to assimilate.)

Totally agree. Good rule book and the game takes like a minute to set up.
As you can see from my review, my concern was length of play time for what I perceive as a CCG more than a mini's game. I still have that concern and I am right now in the process of selling off my game. JMHO. Many people disagree and love the game, so I really advise you to read more than just my review.
