Low creature builds are definitely viable, but they need to apply pressure quickly. If your opponent can build up 6+ level 2-6 creatures, and you have 0 creatures, you're going to be in a lot of trouble. Fighting multiple legendary angels with no support is tough. If you give your opponent the chance to build up that much, you need to really build up as well.

My preferred way to make aggressive openings is to cast Cheetah Speed on myself on turn one with my quickcast, advance 2 spaces, and cast something else (typically Battleforge, although there's no reason you couldn't cast something else). You can build up a bit as you close, but you'll close fast enough that your opponent can't get a huge number of creatures down (except level ones, which you can clear out easily with Ring of Fire or Chain Lightning).

One option if you're worried about getting overrun with a low creature count build, is that you can use Idol of Pestilence, Mordok's Obelisk, and Suppression Orb to make creatures less enticing.

Deathlock is nice for shutting down healing if you're having trouble getting damage to stick to the Priestess.
