Thanks Jesse, and for the suggestion Mark! The Wall of Thorns was pretty simple.1. Go to Michaels craft store and get a 1 lb block of white oven bakeable clay like Sculpty. Look up "Michael's coupon on smartphone to get 40% off.
2. Make a crude base and wall with length a little shorter than the length of the squares on the board, trying to keep the base flat so it will stand without toppling.
3. Bake to harden. Buy a bag of Spanish moss and other thorny looking stuff at Walmart or a garden type store (got lucky and found both at goodwill)
4. Rip up the moss and denser brush and apply with Elmer's glue to base. Then drybrushing and touch up with greens, browns, yellows to make it look active. Maybe some red for blood.
Takes a bit of time, but if done in an assembly line approach, you could easily make 3-4 walls in an hour or 2.
Hope that helps! Good playing! - Ben in Minneapolis
