I’m 2 months into my challenge of playing 10 games 10 times over the next 12 months (my gaming year goes from Christmas day to Christmas day don’t ask). This means yet another list, because that is what the Geek is for……:whistle:This month I have recorded 46 plays of 19 different games.
Racing into the lead with 8 plays is
Love Letter: My go to filler of choice, quick simple, lots of interaction what more could you ask for in a filler. The best 7 Euro’s I spent at Essen.
In second place with 7 plays and the best game I’ve played this month award is
Android: Netrunner: Cyberpunk greatness, one of the best themed games ever, both mechanically and visually. I feel a lot of my life is going to be taken over by this cardboard crack.
Tied for third with 4 plays each are
Agricola: Possibly the best farming game in the world, possibly the best game in the world. Best rediscovery of an old game of the month, just beating Goa.
Star Wars: The Card Game: the other LCG fighting for my attention, fast, fun what more could you ask.
Lagging behind slightly with 3 plays are
Guildhall: Awesome game, one of the worst game boxes ever……..How much air did I buy?
Terra Mystica: Really should have played this more, but alas Pete wanted his game back. BOO HISS….
Wondering why some of these games only had 2 plays. Generally it was due to playing something else.
Bobby Sitter: Stupidly good reaction game, shame I have stupidly bad reactions.
Coup: Bluff based filler, only to be played with 5 people………lighting the blue touch pper again......
Dominion: AKA Donald X’s retirement fund.
Goa: The best spice trading game ever, REX is weeping in the corner.
Hanabi: The other go to filler.
The rest with 1 solitary play.
Dixit: An 11 player epic at the Big DoG.
Go: Brain melting.
Keyflower: Best new to me game this month, really want to play it again ASAP.
Mage Wars: MTG meets Summoner Wars, another CCG type game I want, currently resisting the urge, but the resistance is failing.
Noblemen: First play since Essen, need to try the two player variant and my wife really likes this.
Samurai Sword: Never play with 3, otherwise it is OK
Suburbia: I think there is a game in there somewhere I just haven’t found it yet. Will just have to play it again to find it....
It’s been a good month for the 10 plays 10 times challenge; hopefully I can keep up the momentum.
Have a Netrunner session planned for next week so that should be the first game to 10 plays.:D
