Thanks for giving us your review. I hope that you will give the game some more playtime, and that you will find the game a very enjoyable, rich and satisfying experience.
Also a bigger grid and not "this is my wizard, now lets put on his ring.. and his helmet.. and .. this mana regeneration thingy, a.."
I do understand one doesn't have to have those things and other things may be better choices but say for magician specific gear which "everyone" will want to have (if there is any such) it's just wasting time.
I've got the same problem with summoner wars. To begin with YOU don't set it up, the setup position is decided by the game. Secondly you summon creatures a little everywhere, though I guess that's somewhat acceptable but I think I would rather have a line of creatures going at another line. Maybe. And then there's the biggest one in that many creatures only got 1 health so 1 hit and they are out and well. There's not much fighting and planning in that I feel. But I've only played 3 rounds or so of summoner wars so I'm definitely not judging the game or telling the whole story here.
I feel safe that I would like summoner wars though. Because of lots of variation, cheap extra factions, simple game play and multiple units running around with plenty of effects.
I'm more worried about mage wars since I don't know how much you'd really get out and the movement constraints and such.
