Yeah, it's worth it. I don't play CCGs, LCGs, etc. About the only *CG I play is stuff like Tichu, Mu, etc. The last fantasy CG I played and like was Blue Moon.A standard spellbook is rather large. Like ~60 cards. But there's a lot of mileage you can get from the pre-constructed decks. I haven't tried constructing my own deck yet, and don't know if I ever will. But even if I don't, it's still work it. But I found it a bit daunting staring at a huge deck of cards on the first play. Folks have talked about a variant where you draw cards to choose from, which seems reasonable to me as a Euro gamer, while the mere idea of which causes die-hard fans to develop aneurysms, but I haven't tried that yet. Sadly my son has greatly cooled on the game, after I made the mistake of beating him a couple too many times.
