Mine wasn't too bad "wrinkle-wise".
But, and I may be alone in this, my biggest gripe with the spell books are that the direction the slots open up to hold your cards changes halfway through the book.
When playing, at least for me, I would prefer them all to face and therefore slide in and out the same direction. The way they are is a minor annoyance, but an annoyance nonetheless.

I had that problem and another one unrelated to it which I solved:
Problem I had was that i wanted to make it as simple as possible to make new players clearly see what spells they can use and still include all the spells in the basic spell deck given here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/edb0um2s0pijokg/UpdatedSpell%20Lis...
I made it so that all the spells a player can use in his first game can be found if it's readable on the right side. If the spell can only be used in the following games, it's visible on the left. I also put the spells so that you can take them where ever you can read them. This is possible because the upper cards can be taken from either side and the lower cards are the basic cards playable in the first game.
After the halfway point the lower cards are the advanced spells only usable in a game where all spells are used. I also made it so that after the halfway point are placed the attack and conjuration spells which usually are only used in advanced game.
In Conclusion
This allows me to simply say to new players: If you can see it on the right side, you can cast it. You can ignore the left spells. My system is designed so that if you can read it, you can get it from where you see it and you don't need to switch pages.
