Seems to me, that this game is so themeatic, that a mechanic such as "Spell of Supremacy" or such might be a bit more appropriate.
All of the above changes, although creative, seem that they might cause a complete change in the games core tactics.
To just start off the "beta test" for the SoS: Each player starts with a 0 point cost spell in their book, "The Spell of Supremacy". 100 mana to cast, and when you cast the Spell (full action to cast), you win the game.
You get one mana to cast SoS stored in the spell for each point of damage you do to any enemy creature/cong/mage, and may use your own mana to add to it also during upkeep, or simply add to it during your turn when you can finally cast it. So if you have 80 mana "stored" in your SoS, you could use 20 of your own to cast it and win.
Play-tests in my head ok, in a real game, who knows though. . .
