If you have the latest expansion, adding some of those mega earth spells could be fun, especially if you can make room for the earth elemental. Other than that, depending on your playstyle, a 2nd copy of the hydra might be a good idea, as well as a second combat spell wand.For opening moves, I like the much debated mana crystals and other spells that will save you mana in the long run, but it kind of depends on who you're playing. So for example, if you've up against a warlock who likes to rush, get that hydra out asap. Otherwise, I'd take my time and make myself mana efficient early on and harass with mana leaches to gain board advantage. Gorgon archer is great for lockdown against anyone except the priestess, use her to cripple people and laugh as their mighty heroes lose their strength.
Honestly though, I wouldn't get too locked into the idea of proper opening moves, it's better to stay tactically flexible, especially if your opponent is building their own spellbooks.
