Ok I'm flip flopping like mad here but you seem to be right. CL was cast successfully and is resolved. So we proceed to the attack component of CL and when it jumps to the second target we get a new attack declaration (maybe). But the target does not teleport till after that stage and by then it doesn't matter it's out of range since it's already the target of that attack and will be hit. That settles my question I think. Thanks.

Now of course if I teleported him somewhere with no creatures nearby then CL wouldn't be able to jump a third time. But in most cases that would be unfeasible to do so.

And I understand, if DI was on the first target of CL then CL would have been countered.
